RAINFOREST

Biodome & Aquatic Rehabilitation and Conservation Center

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Expedition Rainforest is the Greensboro Science Center’s latest endeavor, featuring the Biodome and the Aquatic Rehabilitation and Conservation Center (ARCC). This project aims to bring the vibrant ecosystem of a tropical rainforest to the Triad. Once completed, the five-story Biodome, spanning the length of a football field, will house diverse species including sloths, toucans, clouded leopards, and colorful reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates. The ETFE-enclosed facility will immerse guests in a lush environment of rockscapes, waterfalls, and tropical foliage, all illuminated by natural daylight.
